Yext Promotes Jon Buss to Lead EMEA Operations

In a sign that emerging markets are important to Yext, the “answers” company has promoted its Managing Director of Northern Europe, Jon Buss, to Managing Director of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

“This is an incredible time to be taking the reins of the MD role in Yext EMEA,” Buss told Localogy. “Yext is continuing to make significant inroads in the region, with growth boosted by the expansion of Yext Answers, our innovative site search product, into four major European languages. I’m excited to leverage all of this momentum with the team to meet the unprecedented demand for official answers in EMEA.”

Buss brings more than 25 years of experience to his new role. He MD for the UK and Northern Europe at Criteo and MD of Digital for Experian Marketing Services. And he has held sales leadership roles at Regus, Dun & Bradstreet, and Biomni. Now Buss is taking over from Wendi Sturgis, a 10-year Yext veteran who most recently served as CEO of Yext Europe. During her tenure, Yext expanded its regional footprint while growing revenue and customers. Sturgis is moving into an advisory role at the company.

Big Year for Yext

This has been an eventful year for Yext, as it has for many organizations.

For starters, in April Yext Answers was made available on a 90-day free trial basis. And just a few months later, the product expanded into four new languages, making it possible for businesses and organizations to include an Official Answers Engine on their websites in French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Also, Yext also became the first search technology partner to join the Adobe Exchange program at the premier level. This means Adobe clients can now choose to upgrade their site search experience with Answers.

Finally, the company recently enhanced its EMEA leadership team this year. Adobe veteran John Watton joined as Yext’s VP of Marketing for EMEA. And Salesforce veteran Tobias Dahm came on board as SVP of Central Europe.
