Bill Dinan announced as LSA’s New President

Today, the LSA announced the appointment of a new President, Bill Dinan. Dinan succeeds Neg Norton who retired in December after 15 years as association president.

As chairman of the LSA board since 2013, Dinan is no stranger to the association and the local ecosystem. Having previously held leadership roles at WEB.com, Acquisio and Telmetrics, he joins LSA full time with a wealth of industry experience in both the small businesses and enterprise sectors.

Since his appointment, Dinan has been working with the LSA leadership team on an ambitious strategy for the organization. “The local market is continuing to evolve and we’re reflecting that in the services and structure of LSA,” said Dinan. “We’ve got some exciting plans for 2019, which we’ll be discussing at LSA19 and in the weeks and months ahead.”

Dinan’s past history with startups and enterprise technology companies give him valuable practical experience and perspective on the challenges and opportunities LSA members face in the market. “The programming and content we’re creating are intended to help members get ahead of structural shifts and new developments in local.”

“The local market is orders of magnitude larger than e-commerce and represents a significant percentage of U.S. GDP,” explained Dinan. “It’s more dynamic and challenging than pure digital commerce, because it’s where most small businesses operate and measuring ROI is more difficult.”

Dinan will make his first appearance as LSA president at LSA19 in Dana Point, California, February 25-27. Attendees and speakers represent every aspect of the local ecosystem and include, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, HomeDepot, IRI, GM, Yelp, Verizon, Nextdoor, Toyota, Ace Hardware, Phillips Lighting and many others.
