E53 Examines Google's EV Ambitions and the AI Adoption Path for SMBs

In E53 of Localogy’s This Week in Local podcast, senior analysts Mike Boland and Charles Laughlin kick around a couple of tech topics they’ve been thinking about over the past week, from EVs to AI Adoption by SMBs.

First Mike summarizes what came out of the recent Consumer Electronics Show that was relevant to the “Localogyverse”, e.g., what matters to local media and commerce. What stood out to Mike was Google Auto, the search giant’s effort to play in the electric vehicle (EV) space.

Charles then speculates on the adoption pattern of AI tools among small businesses. This was spurred by two recent research projects he wrote about that suggest 2024 might be a big year for small business AI adoption.

The analysts debate whether AI’s adoption would follow the same pattern as SMB SaaS adoption.
