Ep. 35 Asks if Automation is the Answer with Evocalize’s Matthew Marx

“At the end of the day…operators don’t want to have to do anything…They shouldn’t even have to push a button.”

In episode 35 of Localogy’s This Week in Local podcast, Charles Laughlin asks special guest Matthew Marx, CEO of Evocalize if automation is really the answer for SMBs. Plus a few other pressing questions.

Our conversation with Matt covers a wide range – from how AI is changing the way local businesses create content (and its limitations) to the true meaning of automation to misconceptions about the current funding environment for B2B SaaS businesses.

Marx suggests in the episode that it is not entirely true that venture funding is no longer available. Still. he is also pleased that, as he says, Evolcalize doesn’t need to raise money right now. The company raised $12 million in a Series A funding round early last year.

“I would say to any entrepreneurs out there, there are a lot of venture capitalists that are still looking at putting money to work. I mean, we were still getting calls every week.”

Evocalize recently landed on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing U.S. companies. The Seattle-based company helps franchise businesses in several verticals, notably real estate and restaurants, automate digital marketing.
