Spotzer Digital Rolls Out Social Platform

Amsterdam-based digital marketing platform Spotzer Digital has rolled out a new social media management tool. The new platform is designed to help small businesses create and share content on social channels like Facebook and Instagram.

The social media management platform is not a self-service tool to be used by the small businesses themselves. Rather it is designed for use by Spotzer’s global partner network to serve their SMB customers. Spotzer’s partners include media publishers, agencies, and SaaS platforms.

“We leveraged our deep experience creating and managing content at scale into a product that delivers value at an attractive price point,” the company said in a blog post. “With billions of users spending hours every day on social media networks, it is a massive opportunity for local businesses to be where their customers are.”

Social as Table Stakes

Spotzer shared this video to convey that social media is not optional for anyone offering digital marketing solutions to SMBs. The video seems to acknowledge that social media management is a competitive space by emphasizing the platform’s ease of use.

Spotzer says the new platform is already active among its European partners, which include companies like Fonecta, Yell, Sutter, Heise, and others.

We reached out to Spotzer Digital CEO Peter Urmson. We wanted to get his thoughts on why social media management is such an important product release for his company. He said the new platform fills an important role in the company’s product portfolio and taps into the power of storytelling, even for the smallest businesses.

“Our digital marketing products and fulfillment services continue to evolve as we strengthen our portfolio. There is a need in the market for professional content creation, scheduling, and posting services that help small business owners tell their story to their audience,” Urmson told Localogy Insider Monday. “Our social media management solution can include client management and product fulfillment, or just product fulfillment depending on our partner’s needs.

Matching Customer Tone, Language, Culture

Urmson said Spotzer’s team tailors content to the unique attributes of each small business customer.

“Our native experts create and design posts that match the customer tone, language, and culture. We can produce tens of thousands of posts per month thanks to our deep experience creating and managing content at scale.”

Spotzer has also added some unique features for the U.S market, which is a key growth area for the company.

“The solution offers tailor-made content syndicated on Google Business Profile, Facebook, and Instagram. For the US market, the solution can also include LinkedIn. It also supports Facebook’s Boosted Posts feature at an additional cost that helps business owners reach a broader audience through a simplified social advertising campaign,” Urmson said.

“We are currently in the market with the social media management solution with major European partners. The initial results are impressive, we are seeing thousands of units fulfilled every month.”

Spotzer was founded in 2006 by Andrew Klein, who remains the company’s chairman. Urmson joined the company in 2014 as MD for Australia. He became CEO in October 2015.

The company’s solutions set includes website development, digital advertising via Spotzer Ads, client management, now social media management, and more. Spotzer offers everything on a white-label basis.

Focus on Lifetime Value

Last year, Urmson told us the company has succeeded by expanding its digital marketing product set and focusing on customer lifetime value. Working across multiple markets and languages has also been key.

“We have built a strategy and executed on it to drive growth and customer lifetime value. I have moved our proposition from a simple website fulfillment business to a full-service digital marketing solutions business. One where we also upsell to customers paid search, SEO, and other products and services,” Peter told us.

“This allows us to provide a whole business solution for partners and customers. We have built our workflows and technology platform to enable us to do this. And with multiple product layers in several languages. Big growth areas for us have been the US, Germany, France, UK, Australia, and Italy.”
