LSA, Borrell, LMA Announce New Event ‘Fast Forward: Video Summit’ Chicago August 18-19

Video content is not just a revenue opportunity, it’s what the online consumer audience gravitates towards and wants.  Study after study shows just how powerful video is as it relates to the way we consume information online:

  • 87% of the U.S. online population watches digital video. (comScore)
  • Marketers view location-based ads as the most effective mobile (video) advertising strategy. (BrightRoll)
  • 80% of all internet traffic will be video by 2018. (Cisco)
  • Every month, nearly 200 million people watch a combined 88 billion videos. (comScore)

For all of these reasons, in conjunction with Borrell Associates and the Local Media Association, we developed the Fast Forward: Video Summit. This new 2-day event August 18-19 in Chicago is dedicated to highlighting the video opportunity for local media organizations and, as the data suggests, this opportunity is big:

Whether a publisher, agency or media organization, those not developing or implementing a video strategy are likely leaving advertiser dollars on the table.  Even more importantly, as the Cisco stat above shows, the consumer preference for video is only intensifying and it is clearly time to start embracing video in a meaningful way.

If you’re not sure how to do that, join us at the Fast Forward: Video Summit and hear from experts, peers and practitioners on some ways you can start making money with video.  While the agenda is in the very early stages, confirmed speakers include YouTube and ABC Stations with many more to come.

“With forecasts of up to $10 billion for video in the coming years this summit is focused on bringing everyone actionable takeaways,” said Nancy Lane, president, Local Media Association. “We’re bringing to Chicago reality-based revenue ideas from top executives from all media.”
