New data from the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) suggests small and medium sized businesses are optimistic about the state of the business climate. One key challenge SMBs face is finding qualified and skilled employees and with a tight labor market this is unlikely to change.
The January Small Business Optimism Index jumped two points to 106.9, with a record number of small business owners saying “now is a good time to expand”, according to NFIB’s Small Business Economic Trends Survey, released today.
This should be good news for cloud solution providers as SMBs will continue to invest in their business operations to improve overall customer satisfaction using technology instead of scarce human capital. Tools and solutions that can reduce an SMB’s reliance on human capital – think communications and engagement tools – should see increased adoption and use in the coming months and years.
